Northampton County deputies say family members of a woman intentionally hit by her boyfriend's SUV beat him unconscious after her ran over her.
Investigators told the Daily Herald of Roanoke Rapids (http://bit.ly/17oFjEJ ) that 58-year-old Ray Broady has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury after the incident last week.
Deputies found both Broady and his girlfriend unconscious at a Garysburg home. Authorities say the couple had been arguing for a while when Broady got in a Ford Explorer and ran over the woman.
Deputies say members of the woman's family then beat Broady up. Online records show Broady is in custody.
It wasn't known if Broady had a lawyer.
