Funeral services scheduled for Saturday for a man who died recently from injuries he suffered in a shooting that happened back in May.
Services for 35 year old Anthony Parker of Fountain are Saturday at noon at Salvation and Praise Church. Parker died on December 14h from injuries from the May shooting.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office says that Parker was shot in the head outside his home on Lynch Street in Fountain during a robbery back on May 28th. Two men originally charged with attempted murder had their charges upgraded after Parker died.
Pitt County Detention Center records show 23-year-old Lamario Melton and 27-year-old Anthony Phillips are now charged with 1st degree murder.
28-year-old Samuel Melton, Jr. was charged with accessory after the fact in the case. Officials say a 15-year-old juvenile was also arrested following the crime. Their charges are not known.
