Temperatures
Once again, eastern Carolina will come in below average for our afternoon highs. Of the last 22 days, 18 of them have been below average and today will be number 19. Highs this afternoon will warm into the 50s, but stop short of the 60 degree mark. Depending on the amount of cloud cover, most locations will be in the 50 to 52 degree range. The cool trend will last through the weekend and the workweek as we stay in the mid 50s all next week.
Rain Chances
The heavy rain will hold off until Sunday afternoon, but a light shower is not out of the question this afternoon and evening. The bulk of the moisture will stream into eastern Carolina starting Sunday morning and coverage will increase after 11am. There is not threat of severe weather, but breezy conditions will join the rainy.
Rainfall totals will come in under 1.50" with the highest amounts registering through Carteret, Onslow, Jones, Pamlico and southern Craven county. Outside of these counties expected 0.2" to 1.00"
