Sampson County deputies are trying to figure out how a father was shot to death and his 13-year-old daughter critically injured in their Sampson County home.
Investigators say the brother of the girl found her wounded Friday night and called 911 as he drove her to the hospital.
Inside the house, deputies say they found the girl's 51-year-old father dead.
Authorities say it appears the man may have killed himself, but they are still investigating what happened and why the teen was shot.
The names of the gunshot victims have not been released.
