According to the Kinston Free Press, Trooper Jackie Rogers says Joseph Heck of Greene County will be charged with making an improper lane change after crashing an ambulance in Kinston on Wednesday.
Two people were airlifted from the First Med ambulance after it hit an East Carolina vending truck on Highway 11. The ambulance flipped over and crash into a utility pole. Power was knocked out to about 3,000 Progress Energy customers in Southwestern Lenoir County.

Power has been restored in Lenoir County after an ambulance wreck downed power lines and knocked out electricity to 1900 customers, according to Progress Energy.
The company says all power was restored by 12:00 a.m. Wednesday night which was right on schedule with their previous estimates.

The Highway Patrol is on the scene of a crash on Highway 11 in Lenoir County which downed power lines and knocked out electricity to 1900 customers. Progress Energy says power will probably be out for most affected customers until midnight.
Highway 11 is closed from Albrittons Road to the Highway 11/55 split.
The crash between an ambulance and delivery truck was reported at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the ambulance, 34-year-old Joseph Heck of Snow Hill and 19-year-old passenger and co-worker Aimee McKinney of Grifton were both were airlifted to Vidant Medical Center. MKinney is listed in fair condition and Heck's condition was not available late Wednesday night. There was no patient in the ambulance that crashed.
61-year-old Ira Grizzard of Grifton was driving the vending truck. He was not injured.
Highway Patrol Trooper Jackie Rogers says both vehicles were traveling north on Highway 11 when the ambulance attempted to change lanes, clipping the truck and then flipping.
Charges are pending.
The truck belongs to East Carolina Vending. A private ambulance company, First Med, confirms it's ambulance was involved in the crash.
The Highway Patrol says the Department of Transportation set up barricades around the downed power lines.
