"Empty Bowl" Event In Greenville Raises Funds For Food Banks

Raising awareness and money was the goal of a national fundraising effort that took place this afternoon in Greenville

East Carolina Arts Guild created ceramic bowls to represent the hunger epidemic across the globe.

The second annual "Empty Bowl" fundraiser is meant to fill the food bank with funds.

The event is a partnership between ECU artists, who create the bowls, and the East Carolina office of Campus Living and Dining Services.

For $15.00 participants got a bowl of soup and a piece a bread, along with a ceramic bowl to keep.
