FIRE CREWS: Early Morning House Fire Suspicious

Our affiliate, WECT, reports three fire departments arrived to a home fully engulfed in the Pender County town of Burgaw early Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers said the home is in the 1200 block of Old Savannah Road South, and the call came in around 2:35 Wednesday morning.

While the fire was out by 5AM, the home is considered a total loss.

Fire investigators tell WECT the cause of the fire is considered suspicious at this time. The investigation will begin once the sun goes up.

Fire crews on scene said it appears no one lived in that home since June.
