ENC Churches Raise Awareness With World Aids Day Events

Saturday is World Aids Day, and a Greenville church was already getting involved Friday night with an interfaith service.

The First Christian Church in Greenville held the service of remembrance, hope, and inspiration, to bring comfort to those who have lost loved ones to the disease, and those who are still fighting it today. Brad Collier organized the event. He says his goal was to bring people from all different backgrounds together.

"This is a situation where HIV/AIDS effects all of us. Gay, straight, jew, gentile, christian, buddhist. No matter what and who you may be, AIDS effects us," SAID Brad Collier of First Christian Church.

WITN's Lynnette Taylor will be the mistress of ceremonies at the World Aids Day event in Washington at the Metropolitan AME Zion Church from 1-3 p.m. Friday afternoon sponsored by Beaufort County area health services.
