ECU Student From Newtown, Connecticut Back In The East

An ECU student from Newtown, Connecticut, whose mother is a teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary, is back in the east and ready to start her spring semester after helping in the healing process in her hometown.

Monday marked one month since a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook, killing 26 people. Six of them were teachers and school administrators, 20 of them elementary school children.

Sarah Feinstein went to Sandy Hook as a kid and started a non profit organization with others from high school to help raise money to help victims and their families. So far they've raised $75,000.

Feinstein says that money will help send the victim's siblings to college one day.

As those who were left behind will continue their education thanks to Sarah, she continues her education to be a teacher, like her mom; who was teaching at Sandy Hook the day the gunman walked the halls.

Sarah says while the kids are back at another school, both they and the teachers are adjusting and a bit scared still.

If you would like to contribute to the non-profit you can do so at Angels of Sandy Hook Elementary, P.O. Box 3234, Newtown, CT 06470.
