TROOPERS: Driver Drops Coffee, Rear Ends Tobacco Trailers Near Grifton

Troopers say a driver dropped her coffee during the morning commute in Lenoir County, looking up just in time to rear-end a pick up truck pulling tobacco trailers.

Trooper Jason Locklear says that driver, Tracy Hollingsworth of Winterville, has been charged with failure to reduce speed.

Locklear said the the crash on Highway 11 near Harvey Rouse Road happened around 7:40 a.m. Friday.

Both the woman's car and one of the two trailers ended up in a water-filled ditch on the side of the road. Hollingsworth managed to crawl out out of her car.

Trooper Locklear says the two people inside the pick-up were taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

One lane of Highway 11 was closed for a while because of the crash.
