Dozens Of Hogs Freed, One Killed In Farm B&E

Dozens of hogs were set free and one was killed after a break-in Tuesday night at a farm in Pitt County.

Pitt County deputies say they were called out to the farm on Gaskins Road outside of Grimesland this morning after workers arrived and found the hogs out roaming around.

Captain Tony Williams says a four-wheeler was stolen along with some copper wire. Williams say as the thieves were making their getaway in the four-wheeler they ran over and killed one of the hogs.

So far no arrests have been made.
