Dispute About Child Leads To Drug Bust In Greenville

A dispute about the welfare of a child led to a drug bust in Greenville.

Greenville police were called out to a home at the New Town housing complex around 10 a.m. on Thursday.

When lawmen arrived they found 29-year-old Kevin Williams and 22-year-old Veronica Barrett in a dispute with their neighbor.

The neighbor reported that the couple allowed Barrett’s 2-year-old daughter to wander around the apartment complex parking lot unattended.

While investigating the dispute, police found 14 grams of marijuana packaged for resale in Williams and Barrett’s apartment.

They were both arrested and charged. Williams was given a $10,000 secured bond, while Barrett received a $5,000 secured bond.
