Dancers Participate In "One Billion Rising" Against Domestic Violence At ECU

People all over the world danced Thursday to take a stand against domestic violence as part of the "One Billion Rising" movement.

Dozen of people here at East Carolina University Thursday represented a fraction of the "One Billion Rising " initiative going on around the world.

They danced on Valentine's Day to demand an end to domestic violence. According to the organization's website, one in three women in the world will be beaten or raped in their lifetime which comes up to one billion women.

The Center For Family Violence in Pitt County, the Stop Human Trafficking Now organization and several service sororities took part at ECU Thursday in front of Joyner Library.
