Deputies in Halifax County said a mid-week drug bust not only took drugs off the street, it put two known dealers in jail.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday around 8:42AM, they served a search warrant in the Lincoln Heights Community in Roanoke Rapids. Deputies said they found 30 individually wrapped bags of cocaine-ready for sale, crack cocaine ready for sale, personal use marijuana, prescription pills and ammunition. All evidence, deputies said, of drug crime in the area.

Deputies arrested two women who lived at the home on various drug crimes. 41-year-old Melody "Mel" Sledge and 41-year-old Julia "Mother Teresa" Williams Graham were both jailed on a $15,000 bond.

Both women of the Roanoke Rapids area were charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, felony maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule III (Tylenol with codeine), misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
