Crime Lab Confirms Human Remains Belong To Missing High School Student

Police say a body found back in September is definitely that of a missing Goldsboro High School student.

Back on September 22nd, human remains were found off Carmack Road outside of Seven Springs. At the time Goldsboro police said they believed the remains belonged to Kennedy McLaurin, Jr. The North Carolina State Crime Lab has now confirmed that through DNA testing.

The teen was last seen in early September on a Goldsboro street being forced into a car. The cause of McLaurin's death is still pending an autopsy report.

Four people have been charged with the 16-year-old's murder and they are awaiting trial.
