Crews Fight Fire At Craven County Mobile Home Park

A neighbor had to alert a homeowner that his house was on fire this afternoon.

The fire started before 3 p.m. Friday at a mobile home on Candy Lane, which is off Piney Neck Road, west of Vanceboro.

The home was gutted by the blaze, but the homeowner made it out okay.

It took two fire departments some 30 to 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
