Convicted Sex Offender Sentenced Again

A convicted sex offender from the east has been sentenced to prison again after failing to register as a sex offender upon being released from prison.

Nieto Middlebrooks was sentenced in Craven County to 18-to-34 months in prison.

Authorities say Middlebrooks was released from prison in April of 2012 and failed to register on time with the Craven County Sheriff's Office.

The 29-year-old was first convicted of taking indecent liberties with a child in New Hanover County in 2002.
