A cold front will sweep across eastern Carolina early Wednesday taking clouds and light showers out of the area. Winds will become westerly at 10 to 20 mph and gusty and times during Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will hit the upper 60s for afternoon highs then fall into the lower 40s by early Thursday morning.
Plenty of sunshine can be expected for the remainder of the week with much cooler temperatures. Highs will struggle to reach 60° Thursday through Saturday with lows into the 30s. Most inland communities could have a hefty frost late Friday night and early Saturday as overnight lows dip close to the freezing mark.
