Charges Filed In Chain Reaction Crash

Charges have been filed in a chain reaction accident that snarled traffic late this morning on Highway 17, north of Vanceboro.

Trooper S.F. Brown says the crash occurred around 11:15 a.m.

Brown says Michael Biegenheimer of Goldsboro was driving a van and couldn't brake in time for traffic that stopped on the road. The van smashed into a truck pulling a trailer and debris from that trailer then hit a passenger car in front of the truck.

No one was injured in the crash.

The 28-year-oold Biegenheimer was charged with failure to reduce speed.
