About 9:00 p.m. Friday Greenville Police say an officer who was working security at the Greenville Grande Theater on Greenville Boulevard heard a call go out about a foot chase nearby. Police say he got in his car to help in the chase, but he hit the gas and drove through a chain link fence and ended up in a ditch right outside the theater.
The officer was not hurt and no one else was involved.
