Camp Lejeune Marine Killed In Afghanistan

A Marine from Camp Lejeune is the latest casualty in Afghanistan.

Lance Corporal Dale Means died Sunday in the Helmand province. His sister says the 23-year-old was killed by an improvised explosive device.

The family says the Jordan, Minnesota native was on his first deployment, arriving in Afghanistan in July.

Camp Lejeune says Means was a motor vehicle operator assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2. He joined the Marine Corps in January 2011.
