Camp Lejeune 24th MEU Will Soon Have New Commander

Marines at Camp Lejeune will soon have a new commanding officer.

A change of command ceremony will be held for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit Thursday. Colonel Frank Donovan will relinquish command to colonel Scott Benedict. Colonel Donovan is leaving the unit after commanding it for nearly 3 years during which time the unit completed a 9 month deployment serving as a 2,300-strong crisis response force throughout Europe Central and Africa commands while embarked with the Iwo Jima amphibious ready group.
