Busy Memorial Day Weekend On NC Roads Expected

Nearly a million people will hit the roads this Memorial Day weekend in our state, and even though the national gas price average is down from a year ago, North Carolina drivers will pay about 20 cents more a gallon than last year.

AAA of the Carolinas says the nearly 978,000 drivers on the roads in North Carolina this weekend is the highest number in nine-years.

The average gas price is $3.62 a gallon in our state, which ranks 27th out of 50 states.

AAA also says the harsh winter has taken a toll on vehicles and can be especially draining on your battery as the temperatures heat up.
