Breaking & Entering Arrest May Lead To Charges In Other Counties

Investigators in Wayne County have arrested a man in connection with a breaking and entering that could be involved in other felonies in a nearby county.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says that it arrested 30-year-old Jodie Steele Jr., of Fayetteville. Officials have charged Steele with the breaking and entering of the EZ-Bait and Tackle on US 117 South back on January 29th.

Steele is going to be charged with multiple other felonies in Cumberland County as well, according to investigators.

It’s believed that Steele and others were involved in a crime operation that targeted closed stores, and stole large amounts of cigarettes.

Wayne County investigators say that other counties have joined in on the investigation and that possible charges in those counties are pending.
