Bethel Police, SBI Investigate House Fire

The Bethel Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating a fire that sent a person to the hospital Saturday evening.

Officials say that it happened at 6:19 p.m. at a home on 425 West Railroad Street in Bethel. The fire is said to have caused substantial damage to the back of the home and smoke damage throughout.

The person inside the home was taken to Vidant Medical Center for observation.
