Dispatchers said deputies are investigating a shooting in Swansboro near Hammocks Beach Road.
Sheriff Ed Brown said a man had been shot near his vehicle off Hammocks Beach Road, along FFA Road, around noon on Thursday. The shooting was not fatal, according to the Sheriff. That victim was currently being transported for medical treatment. Deputies have not yet released his name or condition.
The Sheriff said his deputies were investigating the case and it is not a murder.
