Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested In Pitt County

A man is in jail following a number of crimes, including armed robbery.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says Jacob Futrell is responsible for stealing a flat screen TV and cash from the Country Mart store on Highway 11 in Bethel.

A convenience store clerk told authorities her place of business was robbed around 2:30 Sunday morning. Deputies reviewed the surveillance footage and were able to identify Futrell stealing a TV earlier. The clerk says he later returned and had a concealed object in his hand while running off with nearly $300.00.

A short time after he got away, deputies spotted his black truck at a gas station. They were able to bring Futrell in to the Pitt County Detention Center.

He's facing misdemeanor larceny and armed robbery charges, as well as a prior larceny charge from August 26th. His bond is set at $50,000.
