The Pitt County Sheriff's Office is investigating the hold-up inside a home near the airport, just outside of Greenville.
Lt. K. Ross with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office says the robbery and assault happened at 1500 Charter Dr. around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Lt. Ross says the gunman was allowed inside the home, after the person who answered the door mistakenly thought they knew the person at the door.
Officials say the person assaulted did not need medical attention, but the gunman got away with cash and credit cards. The robbery is currently under investigation.
