Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Jonathan Walker, age 20, of Washington and Kerry Lupton, age 70, of Chocowinity, Thursday after receiving an anonymous tip that Lupton was travelling to Washington to sell his prescription medication.
After executing a search warrant at Walker's residence, investigators seized 85 dosage units of Alprazolam (a schedule IV controlled substance), marijuana, digital scales and marijuana smoking pipes.
Walker was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling to facilitate drug activity, possession of less than ½ ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lupton was arrested and charged with selling and delivering a schedule IV controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle to facilitate drug activity.
Both Walker and Lupton were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
