Twenty stores across the state have experienced a breach of customer financial information. The state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission says the only stores in Eastern Carolina were two in Dare County.
The state says it was made aware of the problem around June 20th and an investigation is underway.
The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys says affected ABC systems have put enhanced security systems in place, but customers who have concerns are being encouraged to review their accounts and to use cash when making purchases.
