Normally Labor Day is a big day for cookouts, but Monday that wasn't the case.
The soggy weather made outdoor plans like cookouts difficult and in some areas of eastern Carolina a near washout, but the wet weather didn't keep people from enjoying their day off. They headed indoors to the malls to take advantage of the holiday sales.
Shoppers we talked to said this Labor Day they're just thankful to have a job. North Carolina's unemployment rate right now is the lowest since April 2001.
