Face Lift Could Be Heading to Local Bases

Fort Bragg is getting a makeover thanks to a new initiative that is setting off an $845 million dollar building boom.

Congress is now allowing private developers to build and operate military housing. The Fort Bragg Project is the only such housing program under way in North Carolina, but similar initiatives are in the planning stage at Camp Lejeune and the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point.
