Coast Already Seeing Rip Currents

Stronger waves and rip currents are already beginning to show up on our coast as Hurricane Frances makes its way to the Southeastern United States.

Emergency management officials say strong waves and rip currents are expected to get worse even as Frances continues to head towards Florida. But officials say how bad the surf gets all depends on where Frances makes landfall.

Emergency management officials say once the surf becomes really rough, rip currents aren't really a factor because you can't see them anyway.
