There's a new way to protect and the preserve our coastal waterways.
Thursday in Beaufort a ribbon cutting was held for the new National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration center for coastal fisheries and the North Carolina national estuary research reserve.
This new building and new joint effort will also expand lab research and marine science education.
The new building boosts a beautiful teaching laboratory, 120 seat auditorium, as well as an extensive research library. The only other facility of it's kind is in Alaska.
