Seat Belt Crackdown In Greenville

Greenville is turning the tables on those drivers who won't buckle up--they're looking for you at night.

During the next 10 days officers will be looking for unbuckled drivers and passengers during both the day and the night.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says 53% of passengers killed in nighttime crashes in the state during 2005 were not wearing their seat belts.

During the first night of the blitz, Greenville police issued 27 seat belt violations, charged two with DWI, wrote 4 speeding citations and arrested two for driving with a revoked license.
