It is expected that O.J. Simpson will be out of jail within hours, after a Las Vegas judge set bail at $125,000.
Simpson has been in custody since Sunday, facing charges including kidnapping and robbery with use of a deadly weapon, in connection with an alleged attack on sports memorabilia collectors at a Las Vegas hotel.
After the hearing, Simpson's attorney Yale Galanter said his client is relieved and says it's been a "very harrowing experience for him."
He says Simpson will plead not guilty, and that he expects the former football star to be processed and released fairly quickly.
He adds the charges are very serious and says Simpson is taking them seriously.
The attorney indicated Simpson would return to his home in Florida.
Simpson was subdued as he answered the judge's questions. He arrived in court in handcuffs, wearing a blue prison jumpsuit.
