A Wayne County man is in jail, accused of cashing his dead mother's V.A. checks.

Kelvin Ferebee, Sr. was arrested yesterday and is facing 16 counts of forging and cashing government checks.

Wayne County detectives say Ferebee began cashing his dead mother's checks back in 2005. They say it totaled to some $17,000 and the last one was cashed in January. Detectives say they were alerted by investigators from the V.A.

The Dudley man is in the Wayne County jail on a $50,000 bond.

If the mother died in 2005, they should've ran her social security number through the system and saw she was dead and not distribute the check out. FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY!
