Severe Weather Headed East

WITN meteorologists are monitoring a line of storms which are currently moving through North Carolina. These storms are remnants of Hurricane Humberto.

The weather front caused several tornado warnings to be issued for the Triad and Triangle Friday afternoon.

The National Weather Service says in Wake County there were reports of a tornado with debris on Old Stage Road, two miles south of Garner. Widespread tree damage in the Fuquay-Varina area with reports of 60 mile per hour winds. Police reports also say a tornado touched down near a school in Clayton.

This evening, tornado warnings were also posted for Wilson & Nash Counties as the front pushed into Eastern Carolina.
