Group Heads to Florida to Help in Animal Needs

Animals abandoned or injured during Hurricane Charley in Florida are finding help, thanks in part to some volunteers from Greenville.

The group "EARS" or Emergency Animal Rescue Service has set up a shelter for animals in Bartow, Florida, not far from the hardest hit area. Volunteers say more than 200 animals are receiving treatment at the shelter. Those animals have either been separated from their owner or their owner has brought them there for veterinary care.

Members of the Greenville group head back to Florida on Wednesday with five more volunteers.
