Councilmen Say Parton Theater Records Should Be Public

Two members of the Roanoke Rapids City Council say the public should be able to see financial statements from a publicly funded theater for Dolly Parton's brother.

But the two members also say their hands are tied because the first quarter financial report from the theater says it contains trade secrets and is labeled confidential.

Roanoke Rapids borrowed 21 million dollars to help build the theater for Randy Parton along Interstate 95. The city has refused to release financial information about the theater.
