Eastern Carolina native Charlie Ogletree finally hit the water Saturday at the Olympics in Athens.
He and teammate John Lovell are the only American team competing in the Tornado sailing event, a two person catamaran that hits speeds up to 3 -miles per hour.
After two races, Lovell and Ogletree, who was born in Greenville and raised in Tyrrell County, are in second place. Austria, the number one ranked team in the world, is currently in first place. Winds speeds were very light Sunday at around eight knots.
The racing continues all throughout the upcoming week. We'll continue to keep you posted.
