Mechanical failure may have led to a plane crash in Beaufort county where the pilot was able to walk away uninjured.
A crop-duster was spraying a field in Chocowinity Tuesday night when it went down in a bean field just off of Mill road.
Investigators don't know exactly what caused the crash but say witnesses reported it was experiencing problems.
Those on scene also say it doesn't appear there was any chemical leak from what the plane was spraying.
Today the FAA said the Piper PA-25 experienced engine failure. Federal investigators will check the wreckage to make sure the crash is not due to a design flaw in the aircraft.
The FAA says the plane was registered to David Lee of Washington.
