Dare County Escapes The Wrath Of Tropical Storm Charley

The Outer Banks in Dare County escaped the wrath of Tropical Storm Charley Saturday. High winds and heavy rains inundated the area, causing some minor flooding, but no major damage. Parts of Highway 12 did have standing water making travel difficult. There were some power lines done in Kitty Hawk along Highway 12 and there were a couple of reports of roofs blown off of structures.
