A Green Light for Red Light Cameras?

The results of a year-long study concerning the use of red light cameras at certain intersections across our state are in.

According to the Carolina Motor Club Traffic Safety Foundation, 11 cities took part in the study. Rocky Mount in Nash County was included.

The study found that cameras tended to reduce red-light running violations and citations by about 30 percent. Rocky Mount traffic engineer officials say they are pleased with the study and may add more cameras in the near future.
