Deputies say a 14 year old murder case has been solved with the arrest of two men.
The men, already in prison for other crimes, have been indicted for the 1992 murder of a Beaufort County man.
Danny Ray Beddard's body was found December 14th, 1992 along Old Blounts Creek Road in Chocowinity. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound.
Last week a grand jury indicted 37 year old Anthony Godley and 35 year old Melvin Smaw for murder.
Deputies say in 2003 they received information on new suspects in the old murder case. Authorities reopened the case which led to last week's indictments.
Godley is serving time in the Pamlico Correctional Institute for a previous murder, while Smaw is in the Sampson Correctional Institute on a probation violation.
