A man who police say fled Illinois during jury selection is now behind bars in Pitt County.
Michael Parrott was caught today in Ayden by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Parrott had been wanted since 2003 on charges of criminal sexual abuse of a 13 year old girl in Peoria, Illinois.
Authorities say they got tips that the man was living in North Carolina under several aliases. The investigation let to Parrott's location in Ayden where police say he was using the name Mitch Smimmons. They arrested him as he arrived for work this morning.
Parrott is being held without bond as a fugitive and is awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
