Annual wrestling tournament Saturday in Eastern Carolina keeps the memory of a student that lost his life in a car accident, alive.

The 8th Annual Eli Saleeby Lee Memorial Tournament was held at Washington High School. 10 teams from around the state grappled for the top spot including host Washington, Farmville Central and Pamlico County High School.

15-year-old Eli Saleeby Lee was killed along with fellow student Noah Pike in a car accident back in 2005.

Pam Pack head coach Daniel Riggs says that Saleeby's mother and family remain a big supporter of the school and the wrestling program that her son was a part of.

"They are dedicated to the team still they still help with the fund raising for the tournament, they are always involved, come to the matches at the beginning of the season when it's about to start. She's always emailing me or calling me to get this tournament started and get one of our schedules,” said Riggs.

This year's tournament was won by Dixon High School out of Holly Ridge.
