The mother of a 16-month-old boy was taken into custody by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police hours after authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert for the child.
A spokeswoman says officers used a stun gun on 28-year-old Rene Rachelle Lazo late yesterday after she allegedly rammed a cruiser with her vehicle. Court records show Lazo is waiting for a trial on felony drug charges.
Police spokeswoman Julie Hill says the boy -- Enrique James Lazo -- appears to be fine.
