A severe thunderstorm caused significant damage in Beaufort County Wednesday night.
The storm hit the Old Ford area along Highway 17, about 10 to 15 minutes north of Washington, around 7:15 pm.
The storm quickly damaged several mobile homes, knocked a lot of debris into vehicles and snapped pine trees in half. While no one was injured, residents were shaken up.
Power was knocked out to the area as well. Crews have been working throughout the night to restore all service.
There's no word yet if the damage was the result of a tornado or just powerful winds.
