Dogs and Heat

They say without water and proper shade, dogs can begin to get weak in the sun and pass out. Health professionals say heat exhaustion in dogs can lead to lifelong health problems or even death. Dr. Nicole Trevethick says pet owners should keep their pets out in the sun for thirty minute intervals during the summer months. Older dogs should also be closely watched while playing outside in hot weather.
